Rules and Constitution of SRT

 

Article 1 – Name and Intention

 

The Special Response Team (“SRT”) is an online gaming community established in 1998 by Shadow for the purposes of creating an online environment to play certain computer games designed for the PC. SRT is not a community for console.

 

Article 2 – Binding Principles

 

The binding principles of SRT are, at all times, whether in game or otherwise, leadership, teamwork, responsibility, respect, honesty, integrity and brotherhood. Any behaviour, by any member, that is contrary to any one these values shall not be tolerated and will result in the immediate expulsion from SRT with immediate cessation of any access rights previously granted.

 

Article 3 – Ownership

 

The name SRT, the domain www.srtclan.com, the forums and any server hired or owned for the purpose of hosting either the communication server or the game server is, and shall always remain, the property of Shadow unless otherwise assigned.

 

Article 4 – Formation

 

SRT is a hierarchical group. The President of SRT is Shadow who retains overall control and retains the right of final decision of any and all matters.

 

Shadow will, without the sanction of others, elect members of SRT to act as Co-Leaders. The Co-Leaders will provide advice and assistance when requested relating to any and all matters of recruitment, administration, direction, purpose and formation of SRT or any other matter as and when may be requested.

 

Other members of the clan may be granted certain administration privileges from time to time, as may be required, but such privileges do not amount to election to Co-Leader.

 

Article 5 – Recruitment

 

In order to be eligible for recruitment for SRT, each person must satisfy each of the following requirements

 

1)       You must be a male;

2)       You must be over the age of 21 at the time of application;

3)       You must not have any record of cheating, by way of a ‘hack’ or by knowingly using in game glitches to gain an advantage; and,

4)       You must have the support of three members of SRT prior to consideration

 

Providing that you satisfy the foregoing requirements and that your nomination is accepted, you must agree to adhere fully, in letter and in spirit, to each and every Article of the Rules.

 

 

 

Once approval is given by Shadow, the recruit must apply the ‘SRTr’ to their in game name and any associated Steam or XFire accounts. This identifies the member as a recruit.

 

The recruitment phase will last for a minimum period of 30 days from acceptance and for no more than 90 days until a majority of the Leader and Co-Leader’s approval is gained. If no majority decision is reached after 90 days, the application will be finally denied.

 

If the application is denied, the recruit will immediately upon receipt of the final notice remove the ‘SRTr’ from any and all accounts. Access to the forums, game and voice servers and any other property of the Leader can, and may be rescinded accordingly at the absolute discretion of the Leader.

 

An application to join may not be made for at least six months following notification of rejection.

 

Article 6 – Behaviour, Teamwork & Attitude

 

SRT demands that its members behave in a manner that is expected from a mature adult at all times when interacting with other members and friends or allies of SRT. In so doing, it is expected that your behaviour will not, at any time, cause offence by way of a racist, sexist, derogatory, inflammatory, insensitive, offensive, aggressive or threatening behaviour, to any member, friend or ally.

 

Any such behaviour deemed offensive may result in the immediate expulsion from SRT.

 

Article 7 – Cheating & Hacking

 

SRT operate a zero tolerance policy to any intentional act which may be deemed as cheating or hacking. This can include, but is not limited to, use of programs or software which cause the game, system or peripherals to act in a way not intended by the manufacturer, the exploitation of glitches to gain an advantage in game, taking a position in game which is unnatural to the game environment, mouse binds, key binds, giving away enemy positions when dead, giving away friendly positions to other members on the opposing team, or any other act which may be deemed as dishonest game play.

 

Members of SRT should always, without exception, conduct their game play in an honourable and honest way, utilising your natural skill levels, ability to learn and team ethic.

 

Members of SRT should never post on forums, discuss or be involved in the dissemination of cheats, glitches or hacks.

 

Any member or recruit of SRT found to be acting contrary to this article will be dismissed, without notice or warning. The Leader will contact the member or recruit to investigate the claims and will post the outcome on the forums. If claims are found to be unproven, the member or recruit may, at the absolute discretion of the Leader, be allowed to resume membership.

 

This article is intended to be retrospective and applies to conduct prior to membership with SRT.

 

Article 8 – Activity

 

SRT understands that its members have personal lives and commitments and expects its members to abide by those commitments to family, friends, work, education and leisure.

 

All members must make efforts to stay involved and keep current with SRT. It is incumbent on members to check the forums regularly, to always wear the SRT tags with pride in every game you play.

 

The SRT Tags must be worn in compliance with the following style, where the game permits: Full members will wear the tags as ‘SRT-‘ and recruits will wear the tags as ‘SRTr-‘. The hyphen should be immediately followed by your in game pseudonym using title case.

 

If for any reason you find yourself unable to be an active member, for any reason, please contact the Leader to continue your membership. If members have not accessed the forums, voice or game server for a period of 180 days, membership may be cancelled without notice.

 

Article 9 - Finance

 

There is a cost associated with the domain, forums, voice and game servers. It is a requirement of membership that each member, but not recruits, make an equitable contribution towards these costs or services which are intended for betterment of SRT as a whole.

 

Terms of contributions in the form of services must be agreed upon by the Leader of the clan.

 

Any Member unable to contribute may be sponsored by another member or their contribution may be waived at the leaders’ discretion subject to request and based on the personal situation of the member. The decision to waive any fees due is at the absolute discretion of the Leader.

 

Members must use Paypal for contributing towards the clan expenses at this time. In the future, a Clan-Pay feature or other payment method may be may be offered.

 

Article 10 - Member of the Month

 

Monthly, a member will be chosen by the Leadership and Officers of the community based on team commitment and overall excellence in duty to the group. This member will be recognized by a posting on the forum and main page of the site, as well as exemption from clan dues for the following month. A different member will be chosen each month.
